SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA: Location Intelligence company Integeo today announced release 4.0 of its framework enabling Map Intelligence integrations with Business Intelligence tools.

This next generation software Integration Kit has a Java API accessing all the power of the Map Intelligence Server version 4 whether utilising Pitney Bowes (MapInfo) Spectrum Spatial, Esri's ArcGIS,  or the OGC reference map server GeoServer.

With some minor variations dependent on the features of each BI tool, this API offers a set of functionality and a common look and feel across all Integeo's Map Intelligence Clients for products from vendors such as SAP (BusinessObjects), IBM (Cognos), MicroStrategy, Qlik, Microsoft SQL reporting Services, Tableau, Excel, and BIRT.

An MI Client is a convenient description for the bundle of Map Intelligence components which are purchased and installed as one unit (for example the MI Client for Cognos). The other necessary component being the MI Server. Once installed, the Map Intelligence location components are immediately accessible and usable without leaving the familiar framework of each BI tool.

It is very easy to change between MI Clients for one BI tool to another, or to deploy additional MI Clients operating against the same MI Server.

The MI Client Integration Kit (CIK) is also used to spatially enable applications which are not necessarily BI based. Customers may want an easy, fast and secure way to embed (say) Google Maps in their applications and the CIK enables vertical, niche spatial integrations with 3rd party products as well as an expanding the range of BI Clients for MI and OEM (niche) applications.

The CIK is now fully internationalised allowing applications to support virtually any language or regional setting and localised to properly work in a given local and be adapted end-user requirements.
